Hello lovely subscribers <3
Here is all the info for our 2nd meeting in the 2nd instalment of our reading group. From doomsday clocks, to terrifying scientific studies giving us only a mere 12 years to avoid irreversible climate destruction. In this meeting we discuss the Sacred at the End of the World, and how this can help us think of (shape)shifts, changes, transformations, etc.
Preliminary reflections:
~~
Prepare a little thank you to those who came before you and support you to become what you are now. Bring a little reflection on who do you you choose to thank.
Readings:
~~
COLILLI, The angel corpse. Section A (idea of the work) to C (poetology of a time of destitution) p.1 to 13. (Book online here)
AKOMOLAFE, Making Sanctuary: Hope, Companionship, Race and Emergence in the Anthropocene (Article online here).
In these two different readings, we would like to think of death, change, and some place we can find it in the Anthropocene. The two different approaches - one through the corpse of angels, the other through Sanctuary. Some questions:
How can we nurture and find keys to our era through what is left, dead, decomposing ? What are the beings that will or want to support us today? What’s the place of religion, spirituality and/or witchcraft in these shifts we want to bring?
The present authors give us ideas and methods to get into actions and think differently about the Sacred through the Antropocene. What are the point of interest in their methods ? How can we their lenses, works, and approaches to direct our own relationship with the spiritual? What the spiritual can give us access to?
